Escape the clutches of perfectionism, silence your inner critic, and release stress as you invite your creative muse to play. Cosmic Smash Booking is a joyful and liberating process that enhances your connection with your inner truth, intuition, and wisdom—no prior artistic experience required.
My journey with Cosmic Smash Booking began in 2016 at the Women Unleashed Retreat with Amber Kuileimailani Bonnici. Guided by Catt Geller, I fell in love with the transformative power of this practice. Inspired by its impact, I became a Certified Cosmic Smash Book Guide, combining therapeutic techniques with intuitive creativity to empower others on their journey of self-discovery.
With nothing more than a simple composition notebook, you can engage your senses, embrace the messiness of creation, and transform your notebook into a sacred space for self-connection. Each page becomes a canvas for exploring your external and internal worlds, weaving together a beautiful narrative that fosters new insights and perspectives.
Cosmic Smash Booking invites you to break free from expectations, embrace your creative flow, and transform how you respond to life’s challenges—unlocking a deeper connection to yourself and your limitless potential.

We all know the feeling – that constant pull of the screen, the urge to check our phones every five minutes, the way social media can steal hours from our day. But let’s be honest, how often do we actually choose to take a break? More often than not, it takes a nudge from the universe, or in my case, a very literal power outage, to force us to disconnect.
Last week, a summer storm rolled through my town, leaving a trail of downed trees, wires and, more importantly for me, a complete tech blackout. Cable, phone, and internet – all kaput for a glorious (or perhaps terrifying, depending on your perspective) four days.
At first, I didn’t know what to do with myself, I had wanted to finish the class videos for Quantum Hematology so I could take my final the next day. As I went down my to-do list and daily tasks, I was dead in the water. There was very little I could do without the internet. But as the initial frustration wore off, something unexpected happened: I became more productive. Without the constant digital distractions, I tackled projects I’d been putting off for weeks. I sat down to do some writing for my next book, organized my craft desk and drawers, and even dusted off that neglected stack of books I have been wanting to read.
The time I usually spent scrolling mindlessly on social media was suddenly free, and I reconnected with loved ones in a different way. Even when caregiving or spending time together, the phone is ever present. Conversation flowed freely (without the temptation to check phones!), and I rediscovered the joy of simply being present.
However, the digital detox wasn’t all sunshine and roses. It was a stark reminder of just how much we rely on technology for everyday living. Banking? Nope, not without internet. Calling someone on the landline? Our landline was down too (thanks for stepping in, cell phone!). Putting in a grocery order for pick up? Forget about it. Ordering out on Grubhub? Not even an option.
Even seemingly mundane tasks, like listening to music for relaxation and dance breaks, or following along with my physical therapy routine, became a challenge. I had to rely on memory for stretches and exercises, and let’s just say my playlist was a little quieter than usual and my singing wasn’t always appreciated.
The forced digital detox was a wake-up call. It highlighted the importance of balance and a sense of freedom. Technology is a powerful tool, but it shouldn’t control us. It showed me that carving out intentional breaks from the digital world can lead to increased productivity, deeper connections with loved ones, and a renewed appreciation for the simple things.
So, what’s next? While I certainly won’t be ditching my phone and internet access permanently, I’m definitely taking some key takeaways from this experience. Scheduled screen-free time, designated tech-free zones in the house, and a more mindful approach to how I use technology are all on the agenda. I am also powering off all wireless devices before bed.
